The Four C’s Of Diamond Stud Earrings
Please note it is your responsibility to evaluate the accuracy, completeness and usefulness of any information, opinion or advice contained in the content below. When you are buying diamond stud earrings there are four main things that you need to be concerned with. These main things are called the four C’s and they determine both the cost and the quality of the diamond earrings you are buying. The four C’s are carat, cut, color and clarity.
The carat of a diamond is the actual weight of the stone. The carat is a big factor in the price of the diamond. Obviously, the bigger the carat, the more expensive the diamond stud earrings will be. Considering the fact that there are a wide range of carat sizes to choose from, it is easy to find the perfect carat to fit your needs and your budget.
The most important feature is considered to be the cut of the diamond. This is what determines how much beauty the diamond has and it also affects the intensity. In other words, the cut of the diamond determines the amount of light that it reflects. If it sparkles with color and has lots of radiant light, then it is considered to have a perfect cut. If it appears to be lifeless and dull, then the cut is too shallow. When the cut is too deep it will appear dark and will not reflect light.
Another reason the cut is so important is because it is also a major factor in determining how much the diamond will cost. A diamonds cut is determined by a scale that ranges from “fair, good, very good and ideal”. When you want the best quality possible for an affordable price, most shoppers search for the “very good” diamond cut. This is because it does cost a lot less than the “ideal” cut, but it still reflects enough light to sparkle and shine brilliantly.
A diamond has what is called “fire” and the color of a diamond is used to grade the amount of fire each stone has. The “fire” is the amount of rainbow color that is projected from the prism effect the diamond produces. The reason the color of the diamond is used in rating the amount of fire it has is because the less color it has the more “fire” it produces. Diamond “fire” is rated on a scale from D to Z with D being the very best grade found.
A rating system is used to determine the clarity of a diamond. This system rates the stone according to the amount of flaws it has which are found inside the diamond and on the surface. The amount of flaws a stone has helps to determine the cost of the diamond. If a diamond is rated flawless it will be very expensive because they are hard to find.
Most diamonds will have blemishes and flaws of some type, but this doesn’t mean that you still can’t have a good quality diamond. There are many stones with flaws that are very beautiful because the flaws can be so small that you cannot even notice them with the naked eye. Just keep in mind that the more you are able to spend for a diamond, the fewer flaws it will have.
Use the four C’s to help you locate and buy the best quality diamond stud earrings around for the money you spend. It is always easier to find the best deals when you are well informed and know what to look for.
