Getting married in Hawaii is actually quite easy because Hawaii is part of the US. The bride and groom have to appear in person at the department of health, with 60 dollars cash and valid ID. Both must be over 18. The license is valid for 30 days, so you must hold the actual wedding ceremony within that time frame. Your actual marriage certificate will be prepared by your licensed marriage officiant with the Department of Health . A newly married couple receives one (1) certified copy of the marriage certificate at no extra charge, upon payment of the marriage license fee, which will be sent to the couple by mail (60-120 days) after the marriage has been performed.
Holding your wedding in Maui does not actually have to be expensive. There are professional planners and other wedding service providers on the island that can put together elegant, lovely weddings. They can be as simple or elaborate as you wish.
